persimmon blossoms

Continuing my obsession with photographing fruit blossoms, for the first time this year I managed to discover persimmon blossoms.

You can't miss them in the fall, when the leaves begin to fall, leaving the plump, bright orange fruit dangling from the limbs, but in the spring, they'd been elusive to me.

Last fall, I pegged all the persimmon trees in my neighbourhood and kept a close eye on them until they finally bloomed this week. You would barely even notice them if you weren't looking, which is probably why I'd not been able to find them in five years of searching.
