The Buddha commented that even monastics require an amount of comfort. As for the rest of us who haven't taken the $4,000,000 vows, there's really nothing wrong with gaining riches, that way we can use them to help support monks and others who need our help.
Bonded to debt, and all the suffering linked with it, we're of little use to anyone!
