For another weird display of animals doing tricks, after the elephant camp my driver brought me to see a nearby monkey school. I didn't ask him to, so he probably got a commission for bringing me there.
They train monkeys to pick coconuts, but also to do back-flips, lift plastic dumbbells, shoot hoops, pick numbers, and ride around on a tricycle with a Chinese umbrella, which looked totally humiliating to the poor monkey.
The visit started off nice, with an adorable little baby monkey climbing up and hanging out on my shoulder for a bit, but after seeing all the sad looking monkeys in cages, I was eager to get out of there...
