Fina Amore

[I had a difficult time wording this properly, I was a bit rushed before work and didn't take my time enough. Incase there is any confusion, the baby hasn't been born yet, and this is a photo of Fina just after she was born.]

There was something that initially felt different about this pregnancy. There was so much excitement the first time, my emotions were much more subtle this time. For EunBong, she's really excited about having a son, in Korea, you're not really considered a successful wife it you don't make a boy, but for me I had these strange doubts that it would be possible to love another baby as much as I love Fina. Of course, that's what I get for thinking about it! Love is infinite, not something the mind can quantify, even when it tries.

Won't it be amazing to love another being as much as I love Fina?! Maybe, one day, I'll even learn to love every being as much as I love Fina, as Buddha suggests we should do.

  1. Joseph - that is one of the most difficult aspects of being human: accepting the fact that you cannot feel the same way about everyone. You could not survive as an individual body if news of a distant disaster affected you with the same force that even a slight mishap occurring to your child does.

The life of a householder is a challenging one, at best.
