This morning on the bus ride to work, I came across this passage in the Dhammapada;
Meditate, O monk, be not negligent,
Do not allow your heart to whirl in the pleasures of senses.
Do not swallow a flaming iron ball and then,
As you burn, cry out, "Oh, that hurts!"
I may not be a monk, but I know when a teaching also applies to me!
Without many people here to talk to, I almost daily (and not always successfully) have to resist using this blog as a way to vent (read: complain!). But what single thing is there that I didn't shove down my own throat?
