For over 15 years, Tsoknyi Rinpoche has been teaching students worldwide about the innermost nature of mind (Mahamudra) in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Rinpoche is one of those rare teachers whose lighthearted, yet illuminating style appeals to both beginners and advanced practitioners alike. He is truly a bridge between ancient wisdom and the modern mind. His fresh insights into the western psyche have enabled him to teach and write in a way that touches our most profound awareness, using metaphors, stories and images that point directly to our everyday experience. He is widely recognized as a brilliant meditation teacher, is the author of two books, Carefree Dignity and Fearless Simplicity, and has a keen interest in the ongoing dialogue between western research, especially in neuroscience, and Buddhist practitioners and scholars.

His teachers include some of the most renowned masters of Tibet: Khamtrul Rinpoche Dongyu Nyima, his father Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Nyoshul Khen Rinpoche, and Adeu Rinpoche. Rinpoche is also the older brother of Mingyur Rinpoche. Tsoknyi Rinpoche is the spiritual head of two nunneries in Nepal, as well as one of the largest nunneries in Tibet. He also heads 50+ practice centers and hermitages with over 2,000 nuns and 900 monks that practice the Tsoknyi and Ratna Lingpa Lineages in the eastern region of Tibet (Nangchen). Yeshe Rangsal (55acre retreat land) in Crestone, Colorado, is his seat in the West.

촉니 린포체 대중강의와 마하무드라 워크샵

촉니 린포체는 지난 15년 동안 세계 곳곳에서 마음의 가장 내밀한 본성 (마하 무드라)에 대해 가르침을 전해왔다. 촉니 린포체의 방식은 유쾌하면서 동시에 명쾌하여 명상 초보자나 경험 많은 명상 수행자들의 마음을 모두 사로잡을 수 있는 능력을 갖춘 드문 스승이다. 린포체는 고래의 지혜와 현대인의 마음을 연결하는 다리 역할을 훌륭히 수행하고 있다. 린포체는 선진국 사람의 정신에 대해 생생한 통찰을 지녔고 우리 일상에서 흔히 발견되는 은유, 예시나 이미지를 십분 활용하여 우리 안의 가장 심오한 자각심을 발견하도록 우리를 이끈다. 그는 세계적으로 인정 받는 명상가이자 스승이며 동시에 Carefree Dignity』,『Fearless Simplicity』 라는 두권의 책을 쓴 저자이기도 하다. 촉니 린포제는 서양의 과학, 특히 뇌 신경학과 불교 수행자와 학자들 간에 진행되는 대화에 대해 특히 많은 관심을 기울이고 있는 티베트 영적 지도자들 중 하나이다.

촉니 린포체는 티베트의 가장 훌륭한 명상가들을 스승으로 모시고 가르침을 받았다. 린포체의 스승으로는 제8대 캄툴 린포체 (독규 니마), 아버지이신 툴쿠 우르겐 린포체, 딜고 켄체 린포체, 뇨슐 켄 린포체 및 아뒈 린포체를 모셨다. 촉니 린포체는 밍규르 린포체의 친형이기도 하다. 촉니 린포체는 또한 네팔에 있는 비구니 사찰 2곳, 티베트에서 가장 큰 규모의 비구니 사찰의 조실이기도 하다. 촉니 린포체는 또한 티베트 동부 (낭첸)에서 촉니 및 라트나 링빠 법맥에 속한 2,000여명의 비구니와 900여 명의 비구들이 수행하고 있는 50여개 수행처의 주지이기도 하다. 서양에 있는 린포체의 명상 센터로는 미국 콜로라도 크레스톤에 위치한 예셰 랑살 (부지가 55에이커에 달하는 명상 센터)이 있다.

Directions to Gongsosa:

From Seoul take 7770 from Sadang Station or 3000 from Kyodae or Gangnam Station. Get off at “Hanguk Gas Anjeong Gongsa.” Cross the street and walk south (right). Then, look for the small street with the sign “Gongsosa” in Korean. Walk up this street and Gongsosa is near the top of the street.
