a winter hike in Maisan
Maisan (ma-ee-san), the Horse Ear Mountains, has been my favorite spot to visit since I first came to Korea. The hills, the temples, the local food, are all unique and keep you coming back for more. I've made about a dozen trips to the park but today I'd like to share some photos of one particular trip. I showed up during a blizzard, spent the night in a minbak, then got up early to hike the snow-covered trails.
It was a unique view of the country side, as I'd usually seen the mountains either in lush green, through the colors of fall, or at least with the early buds and blossoms of spring.
Although I only fell once, one thing I learned during the hike was never to hiking in the snow with Uggs!
