sand Buddha

It was suggested to me by ZenDotStudio to make some sand pagodas during my visits to the beach this summer, but I realized what I'd really like to do is sculpt a Buddha. The sand was too coarse to support the head, every time I thought I was going to make it, it would collapse, and EunBong eventually told me it was time to go, but it was a fun time anyway! Maybe next time, I'll get a head on top or, at least, maybe make one on the side!

So, here's a Buddha for all of you!

  2. Now that's a beauty! What fun. And like a sand mandala, at some point all the work washes into the sea or slowly disintegrates. Wonderful experience of impermanence.
