another hike to Yeonju Dae

It took me so long to find this place, now I can't get enough of it!

I had an unexpected day off today, so I took the opportunity to see the fresh colors of spring budding in the mountains. There still wasn't much green at the top, but the way up was wonderful.

It rained a bit and was blowing frigidly at the top, there was even a few seconds of hail, but it made for some rather dramatic backdrops. After a woman working at the temple offered me a cup of nut tea, everything seemed to warm right up!

Bongeunsa is tucked in there somewhere around the center, couldn't quite figure out where, though...

  1. Wow! Those are some great photos! How long did it take you, up and back?

  2. I lingered for a while, I stopped to take lots of pictures, but it's about an hour and a half or less straight up, a bit easier coming down. From Gwacheon is probably the straightest path to the top.
